First recognized in 1993, The Prominent Brother Service Award is one of the most prestigious honors bestowed by the Eastern Region of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. This award recognizes exceptional brothers who exemplify the core principles of Culture for Service and Service for Humanity. Recipients are celebrated for their outstanding contributions to their communities, professional achievements, and unwavering commitment to the fraternity’s mission and ideals.
Renamed at the 2024 Eastern Regional Conference The Larry A. Mungin Prominent Brother Service Award, this award acknowledges those who lead with integrity, inspire others through their actions, and consistently uphold the legacy of Phi Beta Sigma. Whether advancing social justice, mentoring youth, or championing impactful programs, these distinguished brothers demonstrate excellence and dedication in every aspect of their service.
